The Birth

The Computer Science High School of Bicolandia (CSHSB) is an information and communication technology (ICT) high school located in the capital town of Pili, Camarines Sur. It is recognized as the first Computer Science High School in the Philippines, offering a four-year high school curriculum with a strong emphasis on computer science. The school was founded in 2008 through Republic Act 10284 and was initially named Bicolandia ICT-Oriented High School before being renamed to its current name a few months after its establishment.

Enacted through Republic Act 10284, which formally established the Computer Science High School of Bicolandia.

The Visionaries

CSHSB was initiated by then Congressman of the Third District of Camarines Sur, Luis R. Villafuerte, in collaboration with the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) under the administration of its first University President, Atty. Marito T. Bernales. Through the efforts of then Pili Mayor Alexis San Luis, top elementary graduates from Pili and nearby areas were invited to take the school’s first entrance examination in 2008. The original intake was set for 70 students, but the administration later decided to accept 72, forming the pioneer batch of CSHSB.

In 2015, the administration of CSHSB was officially transferred from CBSUA to the Department of Education. With the implementation of the K to 12 Basic Education Program by the Aquino Administration, the school began offering junior high school starting from the school year 2015-2016. Despite the transition, CSHSB continues to maintain its reputation as a specialized ICT-oriented high school.
